Try "The Cosmic Combo" during Wales Dark Skies Week 2026

Ever thought about starting a new interest or hobby—but never quite found the right spark?

For many of us, it’s not the lack of ideas, but the lack of opportunity. Some experiences feel just out of reach. Take photography after dark, for example. Not many people get the chance to explore it properly, let alone in places where the night sky truly comes alive.

Wales is one of those rare places.

With its wonderfully dark skies and dramatic landscapes, it offers a setting that feels almost made for creativity after sunset. Mountains, coastlines, and wide open spaces become something entirely different once the light fades—and that’s where the magic begins.

During Wales Dark Skies Week, you’re invited to have a go for one night only, completely free of charge. No pressure. No long-term commitment. Just curiosity.

You’ll use a smart telescope that does the heavy lifting. You’ll be in control of a seriously impressive camera. And you’ll get the chance to play with light, shadows, and the night sky in ways you might never have tried before.

It’s not about being an expert. It’s about experimenting. Testing. Trying. Seeing what happens when you step slightly outside your comfort zone and into the dark—literally.

Maybe this is just a one-off experience. Or maybe it’s the start of something new.

After all, everyone has a hobby they haven’t discovered yet.

Test and try… as they say. 🌌
