In the first week of December 2025, Serydda swapped the dark skies of Wales for the lava fields of Tenerife, supporting a Serydda client on a five-night astrophotography trip in Teide National Park.
Our base for the week at Paradores de Las Canadas del Teide gave us easy access to some of the most striking volcanic landscapes on the island. Each night we worked on long-exposure images at classic locations including the Queen’s Slipper, Roques de García and the Teide Observatory.

Serydda's role was to make the whole experience feel calm, focused and achievable – from choosing compositions and planning around the Moon and Milky Way, through to camera settings, focusing in the dark and reviewing images on location.
Over the week, our client grew steadily more confident and experimental with their photography. By the final night they were working far more independently, adjusting settings to suit changing conditions and refining their compositions. They left Tenerife with a strong set of images and, more importantly, the skills to keep developing their astrophotography back home.
Although most of Serydda’s work takes place under the dark skies of the Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales, trips like this show how portable these skills are. Once you understand how to read the night sky and control your camera, you can make the most of clear nights wherever you travel.
